BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Raising the Roof's volunteer Board Members have a wealth of knowledge and experience, including the areas of legal services, financial management, housing and homelessness, real estate portfolio development and management, and government relations and advocacy. They use their expertise to develop and execute the organization’s mission and ensure Raising the Roof's effective overall governance and strategic direction.
SOCIAL ENTERPRISE CONTRACTOR PARTNERS
Our holistic model uses partnerships to maximize our impact. When we start a project, we recruit social enterprise contractors to use the project as an opportunity to provide paid, hands-on training to help people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness to start new careers in the construction trades.
HOUSING PROVIDER PARTNERS
Local housing providers and social service agencies are the experts on who most urgently needs housing in their community, and what supports they need to stay there. Our partners advise us on how our project plans can best meet the priority needs in their community, and help support tenants once they move into a Raising the Roof home.
NATIONAL PARTNERS
We work with other national organizations to learn from best practices and the latest research, develop shared advocacy initiatives, and collaborate on how to accelerate the development of community housing the benefits people experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable people in communities across Canada.
