Raising the Roof’s newest acquisition is an empty residential building in downtown Winnipeg that will become permanent, affordable, and supportive housing for people on the Naatamooskakowin (Winnipeg Coordinated Access to Housing and Support Services) list and others experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

Once it’s ready, the 24 unit building will increase Winnipeg’s total supply of supportive housing by 8%.

As much of the work as possible will be subcontracted to social enterprise contracting partners, giving the opportunity for hands-on trades training for Indigenous youth and others in need of support and connections to begin trades-based careers.
