ABOUT RAISING THE ROOF
Since 1997, Raising the Roof has been leading the way in long-term solutions to homelessness. After two decades of research, advocacy, and policy change, we began building our own affordable housing for people in desperate need of a permanent place to call home.
Raising the Roof started with the Toque Campaign, selling toques in support of organizations doing amazing work to help end homelessness. After years of expansion and organizational change we still sell toques, but as a means to fund the work of building and preserving new units of affordable housing with supports across Canada.

Raising the Roof provides national leadership on long-term solutions to homelessness through partnership and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, investment in local communities, and public education.

Raising the Roof envisions a world in which that all Canadians should have access to a safe, stable home and the supports they need to achieve their potential.

We work towards a day when all Canadians have access to a safe and stable home, with the support to achieve their potential.
Raising the Roof creates affordable housing in communities across Canada both as an owner of the property and as supporter of other nonprofits through our full-service development management services.
