Sunday, October 23rd is Day 176 when The Push for Change, led by former homeless youth Joe Roberts, enters the City of Toronto. Joe will have travelled over 3000km across eastern Canada, pushing a shopping cart on-foot to bring attention and awareness to the issue of youth homelessness in Canada.
To welcome The Push for Change to Toronto, a public celebration is being hosted at Yonge-Dundas Square in the city’s downtown.
The event will feature a ‘Walk with Joe’ parade into the Square, and entertainment emceed by Rod Black from local and national musicians and performers, including: Garrick The DJ; Canadian anthem soloist, Jennifer Strype; multi-Juno award winning recording artist, Jully Black; and stage, screen and television star, Robert Pilon with guest violinist Dr. Draw. Renowned speakers include The 6ix’s local legend Pinball Clemons, and The Push For Change Co-Founder, Dr. Sean Richardson. Degrassi fans will be pleased to see cast members, Chelsea Clark, Ana Golja, Dante Scott and Richard Walters in attendance.

1:30 pm: Canadian Sports Hall of Famer, Toronto Argonauts Vice Chairman, Michael “Pinball” Clemons talks about his pushing for change
1:45 pm: Stage, screen, tv performer Robert Pilon accompanied by Laura Secord Secondary Choir, and violinist, Dr. Draw
2:10pm: Dr. Sean Richardson, Co-Founder of The Push for Change
2:15 pm: Joe Roberts addresses the audience
2:30 pm: The Salvation Army band performs

Join Joe and The Push for Change Team as they walk 1km into the heart of downtown Toronto. Walkers will meet at 12:00pm and will journey alongside Joe as he pushes a shopping cart to Yonge-Dundas square. Participants will be asked to donate or crowd-fund a minimum of $100/walker, and classes, teams and groups are encouraged to join. If $1000 is raised by a singly participant, they’ll be invited to push a Celebrity Cart with Joe and Pinball Clemons! All proceeds support local community agency 360˚kids and Raising the Roof’s The Upstream Project.

About The Push for Change
The Push for Change Foundation is a national charity led by Joe Roberts, a successful businessman who was homeless as a teenager. Joe is pushing a shopping cart (a symbol of homelessness) across Canada, raising awareness and funds to prevent youth homelessness by engaging at over 400 community events.
Currently walking 24 km a day, Roberts will arrive in Vancouver, BC on Sept. 30th, 2017, for a total of 9,000 km in 17 months.
