Bio
As the Executive Director of Raising the Roof, Sheldon Pollett has over 30 years of executive leadership built on an established track record of innovation and impact in the areas of non-profit leadership, affordable housing development and operations, program and social enterprise development, public policy, and government engagement. Sheldon was Executive Director of Choices for Youth (St. John’s, NL) between 2001 and 2024.
Sheldon is the former co-chair of the National Learning Community on Youth Homelessness and was a founding Board member of A Way Home Canada – A National Coalition to End Youth Homelessness. He is a past Board member of Raising the Roof and the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association. Sheldon is also a past founding Board member of SmartICE – Sea Ice Monitoring and Information Inc. (an Artic Inspiration Prize winner and recipient of a UN Global Climate Action Award).
Sheldon holds B.A, B.Ed. and B.S.W degrees from Memorial University and a M.A. (Leadership) from Royal Roads University.
