13th Anniversary Toque Campaign

Hats off.... It's Toque Time!

The Toque Campaign is a national initiative that gives people from all walks of life the chance to raise funds, raise fun and raise awareness in the fight against homelessness in Canada. This year, Raising the Roof celebrates the 13th anniversary of this popular fundraiser. Since 1997, Raising the Roof has sold over 575,000 toques to Canadians wishing to demonstrate their support for solutions to homelessness!

Warm your head and your heart! Buy your special Raising the Roof toque – available in driftwood (cuffless) or in classic black (cuffed or cuffless) – in exchange for a minimum $10 donation to support programs and initiatives that make a difference in the lives of thousands of men, women and children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Then, wear your toque proudly on Toque TuesdayFebruary 3, 2009 – to show that you care about Canada’s homeless.

Where can I buy my toque?

Order online through Raising the Roof directly. Toques are $10 each and are available in a variety of colours and styles as shown!

Get your group involved

Do you want to get your whole school involved in Toque Tuesday?

Secondary and elementary schools across Canada have been involved in the Toque Campaign since the beginning. Helping to raise awareness and funds for local agencies is a great way to get young people involved in their communities.

Raising the Roof is also pleased to donate two dollars from every toque sold by participating secondary and elementary schools back to the school for other programs and activities of their choice. We request that schools notify us in writing if they wish to take advantage of this offer.

Our Youth Engagement Program provides resources for high school students to learn about homelessness and how they can play a role in finding solutions. This education package entitled No Place Like Home includes interactive classroom activities and lots of suggestions for student-initiated projects. To download your copy go to the Resources section of http://www.sharedlearnings.org/res.cfm.

The money raised from the Toque Tuesday Campaign goes to local partner agencies working to reduce homelessness in communities across Canada, as well as to Raising the Roof’s national Youthworks initiative. Our focus is on long-term solutions to homelessness. Click here for a list of Partner Agencies or to read profiles of the kinds of initiatives that have benefited from your support through our Toque Tuesday Campaign. To learn more about our national Youthworks initiative, please go to our Home Page.
