To ignite a conversation around people's attitude towards individuals experiencing homelessness, Raising the Roof made it appear as if a shelter would open in a neighbourhood.

The recently released #NoSeasonIsBest campaign aims to spread awareness about the seasonality of homelessness - because homelessness doesn't take a summer holiday.

Raising the Roof's 'Humans for Humans' campaign encouraged a changing conversation on homelessness by using mean tweets to expose and dispel common myths and misconceptions about the issue.


On Sept. 3, 2014 the Government of Ontario released the 2014-2019 Poverty Reduction Strategy, outlining several areas of importance in reducing poverty province-wide, including ending homelessness.

Raising the Roof has been awarded an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant which will support the Child and Family Homelessness Initiative over the next two years.
